Heaven On Earth

We are declaring 2015 as the Year of Heaven on Earth. Heaven is a place where our deepest longings are met. Our longing for love, joy, peace, satisfaction, and so much more is why we long for heaven. Jesus taught us to pray "Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven". How much of heaven on earth can we really have? Well, no one really knows, but I do know it is more than we have now! Scripture tells us that "eye has not seen and ear has not heard, and which have not entered the heart of man, all that God has prepared for those who love Him" (1 Cor. 2:9). That means there is more than you can imagine that God has for you of "heaven on earth". Start praying that way and thinking that way. "Heaven on earth" in every area of your life is God's will according to what Jesus said in the Lord's Prayer. Believe that your deepest longings can be met as you pray and declare "kingdom of God come, will of God be done, on earth as it is in heaven".

Celebration is Essential

This year we are celebrating the 25th anniversary of Solid Rock Church! God has really been good to us. David, the psalmist, said that each generation should celebrate His abundant goodness. (Psalm 145:7) Celebration is a must for healthy living. Celebration is a choice that you can make every day. In fact, I would encourage you to celebrate every chance you get. Each day can be an occasion to celebrate. The joy that comes from celebrating will give you fresh energy and strength. People will be attracted to your energy and joy. God is for YOU!

Last night while reading Romans 8 it just leaped out of the page..."God is for us..." found in verse 31. If you and I want to experience a life of victory that God intends for us we must be convinced that "God is for us". Religion has made people feel like God is mad at them or disappointed with them. Years ago, I realized however, that God is for me. He believes in me. Yes, I believe in Him. I have believed in Him all my life. But I finally realized that God also believes in me. This is not some humanistic, new age philosophy idea that I am equal to God or a god. I was a sinner in need of a Savior. Jesus believed in me enough by going to the cross for my sin. I accepted His love and forgiveness. He believed in me. Simply as God's creation, and as His child, He believes in me! He created me with potential to excel and glorify Him. Therefore, I have this phrase that I repeatedly say, "Believe in a God who believes in you!" That changed my life. Will you accept the fact that God is for you? God is not a thief to rob you of joy. He is not a kill joy. God is not a cop with a radar gun looking for you to make a wrong move. No, He is for you. He wants you to succeed, to excel, to be blessed. No one can stop you but you. See yourself as God sees you. You have potential, creativity, and the power to succeed. Start believing in a God who believes in you and you will experience a great life!
